What a debut album, this Crooks & Lovers. Mount Kimbie is a duo from London that might have produced the very first - take a deep breath - ... post-dubstep album. Or should we say electronic, jazzy, groovy fusion soundscaping? Or is it just hazy, warm pop music in 2010, using friendly guitars, R'n'B vibes, drums and laptops? Dance music for guys who don't like to dance. Before I move off.

Review: Actress - Splazsh
Darren Cunningham is a man of many ideas and technical expertise. His brand new album Splazsh (released on Damon Albarn's indielabel Honest Jon's Records) houses a massive mishmash of musical styles. Drexciyan techno, Flying Lotus electro, Kraftwerk, Prince, George Clinton, Juan Atkins and many others. Splazsh is an almost perfect album. It offers mercy to every f*cking corner of the soul.
